How we raise our funds
National Events. NewstrAid holds many fund raising events, details of which can be found in the Events - National section. In particular, our “Old Ben/ACE Sponsored Walk” each June is a wonderful opportunity to have some fun in the sun – and to raise much needed funds. Other events include our Gala Dinner & Dance in February, race meeting at Lingfield in October and Carol Concert in December.
Local Events: Our many Area Committees hold many fund raising events around the UK. Details can be found in the Events – Regional section here. If your Area Committee’s event is not mentioned, do let us know. If you would like to hold an event in aid of NewstrAid, please let us know and we will put you in touch with your local Area Committee.
Area Committees: As well as holding fund raising events, our Area Committees run 200 clubs, which provide the opportunity for participants to win some really substantial cash prizes as well as raising much needed funds for the people NewstrAid helps.
Corporate Donations: NewstrAid is supported by a great many firms within the news trade – both large and small. Details of how you or your company can help can be found here.
Membership: Many individuals kindly subscribe to NewstrAid each week via their news sheet. Details of how to become a Full Voting or Life Member can be found here.
Investments: NewstrAid maintains adequate investments in order to safeguard the help we provide our beneficiaries for the longer term. They also provide dividend income that goes towards our beneficiaries’ current needs.
Legacies: Many people are kind enough to remember NewstrAid in their wills, which is a lovely way to give something back to the trade. Details of how you can do this can be found here.
