Benevolence today

NewstrAid is a member of the Association of Charity Officers (ACO)  This Association is the national umbrella body for benevolent charities, that is charities who provide aid and advice to individuals in need.  Their aim is "to enable the principal officers of Charities to meet to discuss mutual problems, take appropriate action on proposed legislation or its subsequent effects, disseminate information, encourage mutual assistance and foster the spirit of true service in the administration of charitable funds".

The Occupational Benevolent Funds Alliance (OBFA) is a special interest group within ACO and they run a website offering contact details for a network of charities that provide a wide range of support services for people with connections to particular industries, trades and professions.

Many are less well-known than general charities, and because they concentrate on particular industries, trades or professions, they can often offer significant help to people in difficulties

Please use this link to access this site and obtain contact details for any relevant Charity connected to your particular working history.

Association of Circulation Executives

ACE – as the Association of Circulation Executives has long been affectionately known – is an association of like-minded executives drawn from the fields of newspaper and magazine publishing, news wholesaling and distribution and service provision. We already have over 400 members around the world, but seek more members to better represent the interests of publishers, distributors, transporters and wholesalers alike.

The aims of ACE have changed little since it was founded in 1951 – to foster fellowship, friendship, and the exchange of ideas between members of our industry.

Ace Signs Group

Ace Signs Group, one of the foremost signage companies in the UK, have very kindly donated banners and work on NewstrAid’s Display stand.  We’re ASG and that means we’re more than just a sign company. Because today, more than ever, you need more than just a sign. Put ASG on your tender list and you may get more than you budgeted for.  We don’t just make signs, we make signs work. Signs that cost less to maintain because they virtually maintain themselves.  We work behind a proven project management and manufacturing system that delivers on time and on budget.  We have the capacity to handle the biggest projects and the resources to manage each and every detail from design forward.  That’s why the biggest brands come to ASG.  And that’s also why they come back.
