ANL renews £10,000 sponsorship of NewstrAid for 2026

ANL has renewed its support for industry charity NewstrAid with a further £10,000 corporate sponsorship donation for 2026, continuing a partnership that has helped the charity significantly increase the number of newstrade colleagues it supports.

The news publisher has supported NewstrAid since 2022, with its ongoing backing helping the charity provide vital financial, emotional and practical assistance to more people from the newspaper and magazine industry during a period of considerable economic pressure.

Between 2022 and 2025, NewstrAid more than doubled the number of newstrade colleagues it helped, reflecting both the growing demand for its services and the charity’s continued efforts to reach more people across the industry.

Neil Jagger, Chief Executive of NewstrAid, said: “We are extremely grateful to Associated Newspapers for continuing its support with another generous £10,000 donation. Industry support like this is essential in helping NewstrAid to continue to expand its reach and increase the number of people it is able to support each year.”

NewstrAid provides free and confidential assistance to people who work, or have worked, in the sale and distribution of newspapers and magazines in the UK. Its services include financial grants, emotional wellbeing support, benefits and debt advice, and practical guidance for individuals and families experiencing difficult circumstances.

Shaun Jones, Head of Circulation at ANL, added: “Associated Newspapers Limited is proud to continue our support for NewstrAid with a further £10,000 contribution in 2026. We have seen the important difference the charity makes to people throughout the newstrade community and are pleased that our support since 2022 has helped NewstrAid reach an increasing number of industry colleagues.

We recognise the vital role NewstrAid plays in supporting the wellbeing of people across the sector and are delighted to continue our partnership for another year.”

Founded in 1839, NewstrAid has a long history of providing financial, emotional and practical support to people from the newspaper and magazine industry. With continued backing from industry partners such as Associated Newspapers Limited, the charity aims to build on the growth in its reach and ensure that even more newstrade colleagues know where to turn when they need support.
