Newsquest gives corporate donation to Industry Charity NewstrAid

Newsquest, one of the largest regional news publishers in the UK have presented industry charity, NewstrAid, with a £10,000 corporate donation.

The money will help the charity to continue to assist anyone facing hardship who has worked in the sale and distribution of newspapers and magazines in the UK.

Neil Jagger CEO for NewstrAid, said: “We are very grateful to Newsquest for this donation. Every year sees us help people from across the industry with a wide range of issues. Donations like this one, allows us to provide support when it is needed most.

In 2023 NewstrAid supported more than 1,400 people with financial, emotional and practical assistance. This included one off grants to help those struggling with the cost of living, emotional support through wellbeing resources and counselling sessions and advice on managing debts, state benefits and other sources of funding.

Neil Jagger concluded: “Our charity is celebrating its 185th Anniversary in 2024 and we have only been able to reach this landmark thanks to the support we receive from the industry year after year. Donations like Newsquest’s contribution ensures that NewstrAid can continue to offer a ‘Helping Hand’ to anyone from the newstrade who is in trouble.”
