NewstrAid Announces Scavenger Hunt Event to celebrate Charity’s 185th Birthday

Industry charity, NewstrAid, has announced it will be hosting a nationwide Scavenger Hunt event on June 6^th (4.30-6.30pm) as part of its 185^th anniversary activities.

Open to anyone from the newspaper and magazine industry, the event aims to get teams from across the newstrade competing against each other in a fun and interactive way. Participants will be asked to complete a number of tasks within a 90 minute timeframe and the nature of the tasks will enable teams to get involved from all over the country at exactly the same time, making it a truly competitive experience irrespective of where the players are based.

Neil Jagger, CEO for NewstrAid, said, “We are really excited to be hosting this special event as part of our 185^th birthday celebrations. Some of the tasks will be specifically related to NewstrAid and our 185th birthday and the best part is that people can get involved in any town in the UK which will allow friends and supporters all over the country to get competitive and join in the fun at the same time.”

Participating teams (ideally 4-6 people) will need a mobile phone with the event app downloaded onto it and access to Zoom for the pre and post event briefings on the day. Once they have confirmed where they would like to complete their hunt and paid the £15 per head entrance fee, they will be ready to login at 4.30pm on June 6^th to get their instructions and unlock a series of local GPS hotspots! The winning team will be announced at the end of the event and will receive a £200 prize.

We know lots of people fondly remember the Old Ben walks that used to take place each year and now that the industry has evolved into a more digitally connected world, we hope that this event can represent a more modern incarnation of this much loved event.”
