What is Woolly Wednesday?

Woolly Wednesday is NewstrAid’s annual awareness day, shining a light on the help available to people from the newspaper and magazine industry who are finding it difficult to cover winter costs.

When does it take place?

In 2026 Woolly Wednesday will take place on Wednesday 4th November. This follows the distribution of NewstrAid’s Winter Comfort grant which provides more than 300 of the charity’s beneficiaries with a financial boost to help them stay warm during the colder months.

How can I get involved? WearShareCare

One day. Three simple ways to make a difference!

Wear – On November 4th pull on your favourite jumper, cardigan, scarf, hat, gloves etc. The brighter and bolder the better.

Share –Post a photo or selfie and share NewstrAid’s content on social media. Use #NewstrAidWoollyWednesday and #WearShareCare to help the message travel across the industry.
